Staying safe online? You may thing! "Pfft. I don't care so much. No one will h@ck me!" You are WRONG! You all are here to make online money, you live in a world where you have tons of payment processors like PayPal linked with your What you're posting is forbidden and against the forum rules. and such. Once you start banking like me you become a target by hackers. So how do you protect yourself? This thread supports generally all users on how to protect themselves. If you are a pro you don't need to know this ;)
I have gone blackhat multiple times and I can tell you these steps will make it much harder for a hacker to get you.
Basics:
Password creation:
Now passwords this the only thing keeping someone from accessing your account if they know your username. Now before I start ask this. Do you have any passwords like "1234" or "qwerty" if you do SHAME on you. All a hacker needed to do was get your username and then bruteforce your account and he would have access within 10 seconds as he goes through a list of the most idiotic, most common passwords.
Your passwords want to be like this "7i0Su85N@<0z(!j". LONG! Uppercase and lower case letters. Symbols and numbers! You want to have all accounts include this, all important accounts. Do NOT use the same password for every account or the hacker can access ALL accounts.
Password storing:
Now that you have such strong passwords like the example above you need to store them unless you can memorize them (don't try). I recommend keeping a book at home in a safe which you take out when you need to access accounts. This book must be cared for a lot. I use this method its the safest. Only problem is you could lose it but thats really rare if you are careful.
There are forms of password holding applications that encrypt your passwords but those forms can be stone with rats/malware so beware. Also if you harddrive goes kaput, say bye bye!
WHAT EVER YOU DO! DO NOT store your passwords in a TXT file on your desktop. This will get easily stolen by someone if they try with rats and malware.
Protecting yourself while you use new passwords
Malware protection
Malware protection is essential, you need an anti-virus that is very often updated with the latest malware such as PPI, rats and keyloggers. Malware Bytes I use but there are others. If you are a big earner with a high reputation you want to scam EVERY day before you do work to make sure that you are clean so that you don't imput passwords when there is a keylogger. If there is a keylogger or malware you must change all your passwords fast and remove the malware.
IP protection
Your IP is also very essential! You must use a very private VPN or even better an anonymouse private proxy. Maybe even a few proxies to shuffle through automatically. I recommend ZenMate VPN. Use their premium trial (when it ends log out and sign up again for a new trial ;) ) It has fast video streaming and load speeds. I recommend using Europe countries on their VPN instead of the USA ones.
Phishing
Now phishing. This is a very important thing to watch for. Avoid posting your email in public areas or you could get targeted. You could get emailed by a fake PayPal email asking you to "Sign in" which will fail (set up to) and then they record your input. That way they get your password for example. Always check email of the sender and if there is a phisher mark it as spam and filter it to go straight in trash if it sends again.
Signing up on Sites
Now if you are signing up on money earning sites, especially new ones, you want to avoid using your real info. This will save you incase the site steals info and/or scams. There are these sites. Make an online alias you use on high risk sites. But use your real info on real and legit sites.
Thanks it! If you follow these steps you will diminish heavily chances of being h@cked. Peace out homies!
@Asmodeus and @Dol14 Do you agree with the fact that these steps do help online security?
